The One With The Brand New Skates Wednesday Wrap Up | Vol. 68

Happy first day of March! It’s so hard to believe we’re already in the 3rd month of 2017. February always flies by, but it seemed to go especially fast this year! I’m not complaining though, because there are many exciting things ahead!

On Sunday I had my first wedding of the year! I’ve posted a few previews on my Instagram, so make sure you check it out ;) It was so wonderful to get a taste of wedding season in February… that NEVER happens! It’s always way too cold in Virginia. Thankfully, Benji & Alicia’s wedding day was fairly warm (for it being February!), even though the wind made it feel a lot cooler. I can’t wait to share more photos!

Today is supposed to be another record warm day – possibly hitting 80* and getting a few thunderstorms! This is so weird in Virginia. But again, I’m not complaining, because I’m definitely ready for spring. By the end of the week, it’s expected to cool down a lot, and I’m just praying we don’t get any snow! Speaking of snow, this year I put out a model call for a snowy couples shoot and I got a lot of responses! But we have gotten absolutely zero snow. Oops.

Yesterday was a great day, because I drove over to Charlottesville to pick up my brand new figure skates! They are gorgeous. So so pretty. They’re white leather, thickly lined, and my ankles have never felt so much support! When I went to pick them up, they were already warming up, so I almost immediately put them on and started walking in them to start the heat molding process (to make them fit my feet perfectly). The fitter watched me walk for about 5 minutes, making little adjustments to the blade mounts, until they felt perfect. Seriously, it’s like I’m not wearing skates at all! Then he sharpened the blades and I got to skate on them for the first time. Honestly it feels like butter now! It’s so smooth! I definitely have to break them in a little more, but holy cow they are amazing.

Joelle and I took lessons every Saturday in January, and I loved it so much I’m going to start taking more lessons with the instructor! I am so excited to get started!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!
