I am so excited that you're here! This is where I share my latest sessions, personal photos, and funny life stories. You'll quickly hear about my obsessive cleaning habits, my adorable pup, and probably a little something about fruit pizza (only the best food ever created). So grab a drink (something iced for me... yes, even in the winter), and scroll through the archives!

Our Engagement Session By Tara Liebeck Photography

Every wedding photographer that has ever been engaged knows that you get asked this question a billion times:

“So who’s going to be your wedding photographer?”

Or the also very popular, “Are you going to photograph your own wedding?”. Don’t feel embarrased if you’ve asked this question, just know that it’s definitely not a new one, hahaha ;)

Like most girls, I’ve been planning my wedding in my head for years. In fact, I’ve made a few blog posts about it too (not that anyone’s surprised). The two that stand out to me are from 2009 and 2015. In 2009 I thought that yellow tulips were definitely the way to go ;) But in 2015, I had planned my wedding to be pretty much exactly how I thought it’d end up. Some things are staying the same (October wedding, donuts – I even got the ring I desperately wanted, but even better!!), but a lot is changing!

One of those things was my photographer! I have been following a husband and wife team in California for many years, and their work is just stunning. But one thing I didn’t account for in my fairy tale wedding post, is budget! It just simply is not in the budget for me to be flying photographers to and from ;) So I began my search for a more local photographer! That’s how I found Tara Liebeck <3

I was absolutely obsessed from the moment I saw her website. Such clean, bright, and warm colors!! It was exactly what I was looking for! I scoured every blog post, memorized every photo on her website (please don’t think I’m a stalker, Tara ;), and knew absolutely for sure that I had to have her. One of the biggest things I knew I needed in a photographer, was a style similar to mine. After all, when I hang them all over our house, I want them to match the photos that I take and hang up! :)

Even before we were engaged, I sent her an email asking if she was available for our date, and she was! I felt that she was just as excited about the upcoming proposal as I was ;) Okay, that’s a lie, there’s no way POSSIBLE that anyone was as excited as me! But on the day Chris proposed, Tara was one of the very first people to know! We booked her as our photographer, and planned for the engagement session. I was so ridiculously excited, and couldn’t wait for it to finally be my turn ;)

Finally it was April 18th! Our outfits were all picked out, and it was the ONLY perfectly sunny and warm day of the week! It was amazing. We chose to take them by the river that’s just down the road, and my backyard. I was obsessed with the sneak peeks we got that night, and even more obsessed with the entire gallery! It makes me even more excited about the wedding – I already can’t wait to see the photos ;) These are just a few of my favorites! Is it acceptable to have all of them blown up huge on a canvas? I’m asking for a friend ;)

The best part is that I have these amazing photos of me and my fiancé, the most wonderful man in the world. He put up with all these pictures, and I am so thankful for him! This is such a special season in our lives, and even though I wish October 26th would hurry up and get here, I am so glad I’ll always have these pictures to remember it! I love that they capture our love so perfectly, and I just can’t wait to spend the rest of my life loving him <3

The original plan was the actually get IN the river, but because of all the rain it had raised over 8 feet! It would have been well over our heads if we tried to get in, so we just took pictures beside it instead :)

We have red bud trees surrounding our driveway, and they bloomed perfectly the DAY before the engagement session!!

I just can’t believe our backyard is this pretty!!

Jilly Cat wanted to be in all the pictures…

HUGE thanks to Tara Liebeck for all these photos! I love them and this man so much <3
