I am so excited that you're here! This is where I share my latest sessions, personal photos, and funny life stories. You'll quickly hear about my obsessive cleaning habits, my adorable pup, and probably a little something about fruit pizza (only the best food ever created). The One With The Daily Dose Of Afton Wednesday Wrap Up | Vol. 37

I know I am not the only Virginian who needs this rain to stop. It was nice and fun the first week or so, but now I’m starting to feel like animals might start to line up two by two… But it is especially annoying because of all the shoots I’ve had to reschedule! I JUST WANT SOME SUN. I have to say though, sitting here at my desk with my windows open, and listening to the rain, it feels pretty relaxing.

The worst part about canceling a session, is it seems like as soon as you do, the sun comes out and it’s a gorgeous day. But of course, if you don’t cancel, the clouds will hang around and it will pour on you. You really can’t win ;) I’d always rather be safe than sorry though! Especially with engagement sessions, because even though I can make overcast days beautiful, nothing compares to that magical sunlight.

Monday morning I started keto again. For about a month I had taken a little break, because I wanted to see if I could do it ‘half way’. Turns out that was just as difficult as I anticipated it to be. Because the thing with keto, is if you eat one wrong thing, you get knocked out of ketosis (the fat burning part), and you have to spent 4-5 days eating low carb 100% to get back on track. So I thought “why not eat low carb 95% of the time, but just not beat myself up if I want to eat something with carbs?”. Basically, not even worry about being in ketosis, and just try to eat better. But you know what I discovered? That’s almost impossible. Because who wants to eat low carb when you’re allowing yourself to eat a tiny bit of other carbs??

I had all kinds of great plans, but when you bring out the pizza, pasta, and donuts, I’m a goner. Those 3 things are my weaknesses. Plus the entire thing just seemed off, because why was I eating my more expensive low carb food, when I was just going to counteract it with a bowl of spaghetti that night? It just doesn’t make sense. So I just got really tired of all the guessing, and went completely off keto! Which was fine for about 2 weeks, but I know way too much about carbs now to truly be happy with that ;) SO all of that to say, on Monday we started it up again! It is so helpful for me when my mom does keto too, because then it’s not just me trying to not eat carbs. The last few months I’ve been on my own, and it’s really hard! I’m sitting over here eating my salad, and my family is enjoying a nice meal or tortellini and cake (not together, of course ;)

Saturday it didn’t rain (at least, not all day), and I got to capture a beautiful proposal! Those pictures are coming to the blog tomorrow morning, so be on the lookout :)

Have you guys figured out by now that I’m kind of obsessed with dogs? ;) There is nothing bad about them. We don’t deserve them in our lives. Jenny’s best friend was puppy-sitting for her sister-in-law, who is basically instal-famous. So of course, while Alana was at work, Jenny and I stopped by her house to play with Afton! You know I love my dog, and I think he’s the cutest in the entire world, but Afton is just another breed of fluffy. You can’t even imagine it. She is so lovable and playful, and did I mention fluffy??

!!!!!!!! I can’t handle her. We had so much fun loving on her!!

Also on Thursday, Jenny and I went and got our eyelashes dyed again. We do this so we don’t look like we’re dead in the mornings, because we have super light lashes. I wrote a post about our experience last time, but this time was definitely a little different. For both of us, it’s only supposed to take about an hour, but we were there for over two and a half hours. The salon didn’t time it very well, and they actually took us out of our room in order to get somebody else in, even though we had the appointment first. Thankfully, neither one of us had anything to do until that evening, so we were able to wait around. We also had a different lady than last time, and getting our eyebrows waxed and plucked by her was about a billion times better than the last one. I just remember blinding pain last time ;) Oh, the things we do for beauty.

I have been working so hard these last few days on the blog. I have some exciting new posts coming soon, and I can’t wait for you all to read them! Have a great week!
