I am so excited that you're here! This is where I share my latest sessions, personal photos, and funny life stories. You'll quickly hear about my obsessive cleaning habits, my adorable pup, and probably a little something about fruit pizza (only the best food ever created). So grab a drink (something iced for me... yes, even in the winter), and scroll through the archives!

Making the Most of Hashtags on Instagram For Creatives

Every creative individual knows the power of reach. When you’re able to reach more people, you gain potential clients, a larger following, and even friends! Hashtags have become an amazing way to market your business, and today I’m sharing a few tips on making the most of your hashtags!

1. Choose your hashtags wisely. Make sure they actually do make sense with the photo you’re posting! Don’t #wedding when you’re posting newborn photos.

2. Make keyword shortcuts! This has saved me hours of work. On my iPhone I have it set that when I type #wedd all of my hashtags will automatically ‘autocorrect’ to this:

#emilysacraphotography #esmarried #ruffledblog #twobrightlights#greenweddingshoes #wedding #love #married #virginiaweddingphotographer #weddinglovelyblog #oncewed #utterlyengaged #stylemepretty #smpweddings #thebridaltheory #theknot

These are all general wedding hashtags, but I don’t have to type them all in whenever I post wedding photos! Here is a quick tutorial, explaining how to get this set up. (I use keyboard shortcuts for a lot of things, like email addresses, because apparently I’m really lazy)

Also try searching/using #RisingTideSociety if you are a creative, because the people in that group are wonderful and love to connect!

3. Market yourself through your hashtags. The best way to do this is by searching through a hashtag and liking and commenting on other photos! This can mean anything from encouraging a fellow creative, to stalking #engaged and writing “congratulations! Let me know if you need a photographer!” ;) People will engage with you, but sometimes you’ll have to take that first step!

    2 thumbs up!
This is what I’ve been having difficulty with lately.
